Look how terrible the headlight door alignment is on the stock car.
OOPS! sorry, throwback to the NCRS days.

I was wondering about playing with textures like sharks skin for interior material like seats, console, dash and doors. I don't know of it's practicality or of it's comfort just yet because I haven't felt the material and I don't know the process utilized inwhich to harvest the material for such a purpose.

If I knew it would be comfortable, wouldn't cost to high a price tag and wouldn't look like $%!# ,I would consider the application in my case.

I don't know, does this sound like a bunch of $%!# to yall and just over doing it or does the idea seem interesting from a unique car point of view?

I see it this way, Bill Mitchell created the Mako's because he caught a shark, Why can't I run with the idea...

Go to a fabric store and look at their fake leathers. Almost everyone I've been in has a nice array of fake animal skin patterns to choose from. It isn't as expensive as you think.

I had real shark skin boots a few years back. They lasted a long time... actually I think I probably still have them in the closet somewhere. It was a very tough hide.

Hmmm- a shark skin interior. I'll bet not too many people have done that. And ready for this- It's waterproof!!! Find out where David got his boots, buy 50 pairs, and cut them up for peices. Expensive- probably, but I dont think too many fabric stores will have that. I will ask my interior guy tomorrow if he can get anything like that.

Well, David said it was tough, so that probably means it wouldn't be comfortable.

I've seen goche do stuff like gater skin interiors, so I really have no Idea.

Yeah Car Guy, I had already thought about the waterproof cracks I'd be getting before I even posted the idea.

I see it this way, Bill Mitchell created the Mako's because he caught a shark, Why can't I run with the idea...

So- I beat everyone to the jokes. Although I think it really would be waterproof. Probably not too comfortable. Some nice solf leather would be expensive, but will look good, and ready for the cool part- Nice black, with an electric blue shark embroidered in the headrest, maybe even with the Mako Shark name also. Smooth... I know your picturing it in your head and you like it- huh???

I checked with my interior guy today. I saw a handfull of different patterns, like the ostrich and metallic looks. I took pics of them with my camera phone. If you are interested in seeing some of them let me know+ i'll send them to you. He said most are really expensive- around $75 a yard. I think the black would look good, or maybe grey, with the blue shark.
