And............. as for the "Red Shark"......... it's tucked away in my garage for the winter ! Actually, The front clip is in one side, all body work complete and awaiting primer. The engine and tranny came out on Friday. Power washed the front frame and readied for disassembly............ gotten alot of work done and alot of pix taken, I'll post them later when I get some time !

Actually, I'm pleased with my progress lately....... especially since I've been so busy at the shop....... and so damn tired. Should be tearing the engine down this week....... so far the hardest thing to remove was the spark plugs ( Thanx, Randy !). Most of the rest of the bolts have been rather easy to loosen, or pretty much loose in the first place......... go figure, after sitting in Florida for so long! No pain , no gain ! LOL

Corvettefanatic..................... The Red shark has been finished for about 2 1/2 years now. I got the car from Randy and took over the restoration project !I tried a number of times to contact your father to give updates on the car (and see if he could send me more info and pix of the car) !!! Never did hear back ! Let me know an email address and I can shoot you some pix !

The car is now blue in color......... so you might not have recognized it now ! It's won numerous awards and been in a number of magazines. If you google "Mako Shark II and my name (Rick Walker), you'll find a number of articles and pix of the car !!!

I'm 454Can-Am on this forum......... so you can see all the build pix thru out the forum !

I really love your shark!

I saw it at Carlisle last year and am looking forward to seeing it this year and meeting you in person. I am in the process of completing my 68 Motion Mako Shark Convertible. Just waiting to get the mirrors painted and installed. Should be completed within a couple of weeks. I found some unrestored vintage torque thrust wheels and purchased the slotted brakes and red powder coated calipers for the car. Next on the list is to complete the 69 Mako Shark. All she needs is body and paint and lastly going to work on finishing Gordy's ol' 71 1/2 Mako. Hoping to have a couple of my pals help me caravan to Carlisle to get withall my new shark buddies.

I'm looking forward to Carlisle already. Maybe we can hook up for the ride up there.... sort of a Mako caravan !!! LOL I'm going to be repainting my Can-Am this spring, but don't know whether I'll have more than just the 1 car at Carlisle !

Once the weather breaks and we have more time, I want to get up to northern Virginia to see your beauties !!!
