Yeah I kinda like the loovers but I really like your wraparound spoiler. I'm trying to come up with a rear glass that removes from the inside.I guess one reason I like the side glass is the wagons. One had a slinder window like that.

I liked the way that I remembered the scoop being...

I didn't like it when I saw it in real life.

I just got in an 85 C4. I don't really love the body but the suspension and TPI are rad.If it works out you shouldnt be able to tell what it is when i'm finished. It was gonna' be a donor for the shark but it may be too good to strip.2is always better than 1.Maybe an 85 makomad? dreamer.

Since getting this hopped up c4 86 as a daily driver it shows just how dated the c3 really is.....I knew a guy who had c4 suspenion under a street rod and it drove / handled almost as well as a c4 with it's normal body.I love the c3 body the c4 is too "firebird" for me, dont get me wrong it's sweet looking then again I already started rice-ing my 86 up with rear window louvers and a rear wing, nope not a tall aluminum wing I dont think I can run an airdamn the car has been lowered and is only about 4" off the ground.
nothings impossible, vette brakes sells a front transverse leaf spring for the c3, but from the ground up chevy designed the c4 to have the bigger wheels and things that dont really help and in some cases hurt an older car,
I'm sure some people have c3's that handle as well as a c4 but apples and oranges.....
my c3 mako will always be the radical looker...
cheers, T.

I just talked to the guy I got the car from.I bought it with a built 400sb but I really wanted the big block that was in it.I'm not sure if it was originally in the car,I realize I know very little about motion, mako's,and corvettes in general.I need to find out what years they made the 427,and how many were aluminum? I'm sure you know. dreamer.

In 1969 there where 2 Corvettes with the aluminum 427 from the factory. The engine was also available over the counter and as a dealer install.

The engine is available once again new, recast from the original mold, with mods. 200 where made available complete as the RAMJET ZL1. I wanted to buy one to put in my Mako, but couldn't justify spending $25K on an engine.

I read somewhere the first ZL-1 all aluminum 427 was "lost" at GM and has never been accounted for....the GM mako got a ZL-1 and bill mitchell was know to drive it on the street...Imagine being in 1965 and having that pull up beside you...the iron block aluminum headed L-88 was more commen for a rare engine, you will notice far more L-88 stuff on Ebay than GM ever built.....hum?
Everything I've ever read about either engine said neither were any fun to drive on the street and were pure race engines.

I fooled around and put an L-88 cam in the engine in my coupe. It wont idle below 2000. AWFUL tempermental especially with tri power too. If i get serious about driving it I will go back to a 400 hp cam. i have a 67 w/400hp 427 and it is as sweet as can be on the street. But of course i do love old tri power BB. I just bought another set to go on the new MAKO conv. This tri power set is set up for NITROUS, that should be FUN.
