I don't know... it's a cool looking wheel. I thought it might be a Grant, but I don't see anything like that on their web site... www.grantproducts.com
It's not practical or safe though in emergency quick-steer situations... at least not for how I drive.

That looks like you Paul, kinda wild and dangerous.I like it and have never seen this one.I don't recognize the logo either. He may be a member of some Sterling club.I saw a company on E bay but this wasn't one of theirs.
I think it is pretty cool. but I also think David is right. Good luch trying to crank yourself out of a situation. It would probably cut your hand off.
Not exactly the same, but along the same lines.

I agree with David and Scott. My first car was a '55 Ford 2dr sedan that I had woked on for several months prior to getting my license. I had customized the steering wheel by cutting the upper section out at about 10 & 2, just above where the reinforcement spokes were...looked a little like the ones pictured, open at the top but a lot uglier.
Well...a couple of nights after I finally got my license, me & a couple of buddies went to town! Coming home, I hit loose gravel in a corner and turned the ol' girl wheels up. The worst thing I ever had to do was wake my dad up at 1230am to tell him I had rolled the car. The second worse thing was explaining to the sheriff why I lost control...it just couldn't have been that aircraft style steering wheel...with part of it missing...and that I had modified the steering wheel so that I would be cool. After the sheriff got through lecturing me about life in general and didn't I know that I could have killed everyone in the car because of such a stupid thing...he told the deputy to take care of me...well, I owe that deputy...he just winked and said that it appeared as though I had learned my lesson, no one was hurt too much beyond a little pride, and I would be walking for awhile...it would give me time to ponder the moment.
Where was I going with this...oh, I wouldn't recommend that type of steering wheel unless it comes in an airplane or on a go cart!! :D
Last words in fatal accidents for 49 of 50 states are "Oh Sh*t!" Final words in Wisconsin are "Hold my beer, I'm gonna try somethin'..."
well said!!
Those steering wheels are plain ugly

I completely digg this wheel.
The center cap looks like it has "Ricks" printed on it.
I've never heard for that company though.
If somebody recognizes this brand or wheel please jump in.

After further surfing I found that it is better known as an "F1 battle style steering wheel".

I hope this helps
