I have started searching for a clean, crisp, interior. I am mostly concerned with the dash/console area. I dont want stock, but not too much race car-ish.
I swiped this shot from ebay from a 73 pro street corvette for sale.
Not much on the fabric, but the layout is neat.

I got all new Auto Meter gauges. They won't fit in the stock panel, so I plan on making my own... It would be cool to try making a somewhat replica of the Mako interior!!!
David
That would be sharp, it would be "over my head" i'm standing on a bucket at it is!
Kinda limited to bodywork and paint.

I do lots of different things... the problem for some people is the amount of time I take to do things... I work on my own schedule... as is obvious with the Mako Shark II logos :+
I won't tell you the new the thing that I'm trying to do until I actually produce at least one of them :+
David
Oh, and when I do make a new console & dash for my Maco, the form will be out of fiberglass. I will make them available, but obviously not for cheap. Got to make money on this at some time, and there is a very limited market.
David
I'm kinda working on something too...
Don't want to give too much away just yet.
well...."carbon fiber"...ok now its out...:-)

One of the half Maco's in the Owner page section has a cloth interior like you say...
Also, saw this on Corvette Forum
I don't really like it... but it sort of looks like a mid-year interior.

David
Well, David, if the dash turns out and I like the design,
I'll probably purchase one. You know how I feel though.
I'm going for the Concept Interior and was thinking that
I was going to have to build it the same way. Make a mold
off the pre existing dash and work up from there shaping
it from clay, then making a mold off of that and covering
it with insulated vinyl.
Does this process sound like the right direction when
attempting such a job? It's the only thing I can think of
the get the ending result I'm looking for.
I don't know what your planning, time will tell, but I may
interested.

Again from the archives.
I got this shot at Carlisle in 2001. I forgot I took the shot.
This was on a C3. It looked better in person.
I Think its different. Looks like akind of a poor fit on the lower panel, but the upper dash was cool.

Interesting, but a safety hazard if that is an important gauge on the far right }>

I aree- I hope it is just a clock. The tweed one looks like a wrapped stock dash. I don't like the black one- Kind of plain. I wish I had a vette to play with and make a console for. I talked to a guy who had access to carbon fiber. The lights went on in my head. I'm thinking of doing my Camaro in it.

You can get carbon fiber laminate that is way cheaper.

And most people only think it is cool because it cost a lot of money... especially when used on interior parts. Bling Bling.
Either spend the money on something you need worse, or buy a meal for a homeless person.

I've been doing the "meals on wheels" for 10 years now. I love it.
That is a true statement. Not to jump off topic, but I am glad you said that... thats all Im saying on that.
