Christmas Vacation

My Christmas Vacation is coming up... I plan on spending my time working on the Maco.

Anybody else taking any time off from work for x-mas?

My last day is the 16th. Won't go back until the 28th at the earliest. Even with this time, I will still lose over 2 weeks vacation. No rest for the stupid.
Hard to tell what I will do with the time, since my wife is off too.
From the low postings of late, looks like a bunch of folks are already on vacation, at least from here...:+

I'm still here, just not much to talk about really.
I rely on posted topics to reply to, I haven't much
new to add so I check to see if resent posts peeks
my interest.

So, the thread is about what you are doing during x-mas vacation, not about slackers :)

So, what are you doing?

Well, I just finished school and recieved my
two certificates for AutoCAD. Waiting to find
a job's posting for employment, but other than
that, I'm not doing anything.

I'm not jewish just can't recall a good x-mas
in quite some time. I don't think I'll be doing
anything and I don't have an x-mas vacation to
do it in.

Bahh... over rated government revenue generator,
thats all christmas really is. To bring a spike
to the economic charts.

I can look at it positively by only one point though
and thats family, thats if you get to see any.

Please forgive me, I hate this time of year. I've had
a long roll of bad christmas's and it only succeeds in
reminding me of how really broke I truely am.

Perhaps you just need to remember the true meaning of Christmas, and just celebrate the birth of our Lord & Saviour :) It's not about spending money unless you make it that. There are many things you can do or gifts that you can give that don't cost much money at all.

I was raised in a Christian family that never celebrated Christmas with gifts for each other.

The most enjoyable thing about Christmas for me is that for as long as I've had kids (they are grown now), I've taken the 2 weeks off to just hang out. Now that they "have their own lives", I spend it working on whatever fun thing I want to work on.

I don't always end up doing what I ended up going in for... for example, last year my intent was to remodel my office (I work from home)... I ended up working on a "fun" project for work the whole time.

Started out the vacation by finishing the 82.
Put new carpet and seat covers.
Was going for a state inspection today, but its too stinkin cold! It was 14 this morning and now at the zenith its only 28. Probably do that little chore tomorrow, when it gets back up to around 50.

I didn't track the temperature early in the morning, but around 10am I noticed that it was 31 outside. The cat's water was frozen... so I modified the heated bucket that I bought so that her water won't freeze anymore & she can reach it... also put a heated pad into her bed area... I built her an outside house. She loves it :)

I love cat's.

It's nice to know you go through all that trouble
just for your cat...

I grew up having cat's in the family, their like
family members, and very smart as well.

It's nice to know that atlest if their outside
your still taking care of them. :)

It's relatively easy to be a good steward to cats & dogs... as long as you take decent care of them, they love you lots (it's a misguided conception that they will love you unconditionally). We have 3 cats and 2 dogs... we take good care of them. Only 1 cat has to stay outside all the time, because she's got a bad habit...

So far the only non-computer thing that I've done on my vacation, has been to build her house and set it up for the winter weather that has started. I'm just happy that she will actually sleep in it and appears to enjoy it.

I haven't even done anything with the Maco yet.

I just got back from the doctor. He wanted some blood (kinda like my job).
Hopefully, going for a state inspection on the 82 today.
I am into cats too.
we have two. One looks like one of Davids. The other is deaf, tuxedo. both are 100% inside animals.
Hard to do much car stuff when your wife is also on vacation too:+

Finally got the 82 inspected. Funny, I got the car back in February and today was the first day I actually drove it. Runs and drives great. Thanks to Johnnymaco for the tires. Now to get it sold and convert the cash into the cars I care about.
