that must have been an interesting ride for sure!. I gave the guy the controls from my vette too. The page looks great, thanks again. The car was built around 70 or early 70's as far as I know. What else can I help you with for the info?? I am at work now, I'll get better dates later for you. I can check my files.

Welcome! Is there a drivetrain in the vehicle yet? If you have current pictures, I can create an Owner's page for you. It would be interesting to see what it looks like today.

David

Lwhite, Great- thanks for getting info. I do miss my old car. The drivetrain from that car is currently in my Camaro in my garage, as well as the tires that are in my owners pics. Are you going to build that car or are you willing to part with it (hint hint)?? I'm glad it is still around. i would love to talk to you about how it ended up where it is. John was in dispair in the last year or so, so I was very surprised to find out he got rid of it. Part of my contract with him, was that I get another shark, so when he died, I said, well -where is my car. That is when they told me he sold it. I lost over $20,000 when he died. I wish he was still around. We had a great time together, but now I am stuck with an unfinished car.I own the "Miami Edition Camaro" that everyone gawked at in his shop. Did anyone take over the biz?? His son?? Do you have any info on that stuff?? Thanks again...

Scott,The plan is to restore the car back to how it would have been when John built it,Im currently working on a 69 conv,so you never know what might happen.I also just purchased a 69 427 coupe this past fall.I have some interesting literature I assume belonged to John that came with youre car.I think theres a picture of youre Miami Camaro in one of his interviews. As far as I know no one took over,I heard his son is in the service .He supposedly was trying to buy a Maco from a guy up my way.Hope this helps talk to you later,Larry

Larry , Thanks again . I'm glad the car is still around. Keep me in mind if you decide to do anything with it. I wanted to finish it to original shark specs, but John + I had a deal that forced me to give it to him. Did you see my owners page (Scott Makula). Check it out + let me know what you think. Do you have the sidepipes that were on it?? Your 69' sounds like its going to be mean. Are you tubbing the ragtop?? The articles you are talking about are in the links page under 'shark quarterly'- John Silva interview. Is that right, or do you have something else. I'd like to find someone to finish my Camaro, as I don't have the time to do it now. And at this point, the money either. Do you have any pics of the car now?? I saw some recently that Dave put in ,when is was for sale a few years ago. Looks like the back window is half out, pipes are gone ,rear valence off, and front end held up with a recycling bin. I was makinh a harness for the front end, to make it easy to disconnect the wiring for removal. Are the signal lights I put in still behind the grill?? Thanks again for the input. ( I dont mean to beat you up, but I'm pretty excited to know were my old car is.)

Scott, If I do Ill let you Know first,Im hoping to keep the 3 69 Vettes,A Pro Street conv, the Maco and the stock 427 coupe.I have a real soft spot for 69s .My first Vette was a 69 350/350 conv,I loved that car, yeah I saw youre owner page it looks great. No the pipes were missing. I assume a few things got lost in between.I do have a 69 350 4 bolter and 4 spd trans set aside for it.yes the conv is tubbed Im sure a few purists wont be impressed. But I like different cars ,Ill have to check that interview.I dont have any current pics yet but Im working on it.The pictures youre referring to I believe were the ones taken by my friend who bought the car from Johns friend.Im not sure about the lights Ill have to look. The car is at my shop ,Everyone who sees it asks what is it.All I can do is smile!Thats o.k Ive got questions for you too. Later ,Larry
