You can see by the first couple of pictures here that the turn indicators in the front open & close like the real one.

Pictures just can't do the car justice. The more you look, the more details that are revealed. Look at the grille fabrication. Sidelights, headlights, raised roof etc. The interior is definately 70s custom chic.

So you mean to tell me that at this late point in time,
GM would still give some one $hit for building an exact
replica to the Mako Shark II?

The colors do take away from the lines of the car, but
it is different and looks cool.

I would like to think that GM wouldn't try to sue every
body that is trying to honor the vehical design by
creating to the best of thier ability, an exact Mako
Shark II.

I could understand selling it, maybe...
I still think that we should be able to mass market an
exact body kit for a car that never went into production.

Maybe I'm wrong in thinking this way.

I defenitly think Mild Colors is one of the best Maco's
out there but what I really want to know is, how did
the owner get the front blinker light shutters to function.
Whats the design behind the body.

I have a few sketches and even my instructors at ACC told
me that my concept of how it would work, looks right on to
them. Perhaps I should have them put it into one of thier
mold machines and create a few.

I was incuraged by my instructors to pursue this line of
action and further asureed of thier assistance and
co-operation.

If and when I do get the design down pat, because I am a
ruthless perfectionest, I will go ahead and place it into
production at the school and see what the finished design
yields.

If I believe it to be satisfactory, I may just pass it
along to David for further replication.

I got that one worked out... it involves one the servo motors used commonly used by remote control cars & airplanes.

BTW---the real Mako used a total of 17 fractional-horsepower servos.

Interesting, I figured as much due to the back bumper,
license plate, wind foils, roof and blinkers but what
other locations where there?

Hi there,

I found this forum online and thought I help out with the questions about the Mako Shark.

I am from Norway and know of the owner. The car is located in Norway and I used to be cruising with the owner and many other amcar enthusiasts in the 70's and 80's. Those were some great years with some beautiful cars. Norway has a lot of rear american classic musclecars. I have personally owned over hundred classics between 1965-1971 models. I know have a few in my colection, and if you would like to take a look, you are welcome to visit my homepage at:

Please let me know if I can help out in any other questions about the Shark.

Sincerely,
Kurt

Do you have any pictures of the Mako that you can share? If so, just send them to me at djunod@makoshark2.com

Then I can set up a page on this wonderful car!

Thanks!

David
