LAST EDITED ON Jan-11-06 AT 03:32 AM (EDT) Steamline this baby so it no longer looks like a tank tank, deck it out to have leather interior, carpet, carpeted cargo space for groceries, wood on the dash and paint it jet black with some 22' chrome rims.Yeah yeah you think I'm kidding now but, I'm serious as a heart attach. I think this thing could be turned into the next street legal vr. of the now famus Humvee. I had my fun kidding but, now I truley understand it once I've taken some time to think about it. Thanks for sharing you'r latest project with use, post some photo's next time if you got some along with your intentions behind owning this thing and what your planning to do with it. I would Sooooooo drive something like this as a daily commuter. It Rocks! McBrain

LAST EDITED ON Jan-11-06 AT 07:35 AM (EDT) Crew: 2(Gunner/Commander, Driver) Engine: Rolls Royce B60 in-line six cylinder petrol engine Transmission: preselect 5 speed Top Speed: 58 mph Weight (empty): 8120 lbs Height: 6 ft 2 in Length: 12 ft 7 in Width: 6 ft 3 in Electrical System: 24 volt (2-12 volt batteries in hull) Tires: 9.00 X 16 Run FlatArmoured 4X4 road and cross-country reconnaissance vehicle. The suspension is fully independent with a coil spring and hydraulic damper at each wheel. The brakes are hydraulic. Over 4400 Ferrets were manufactured by Daimler LTD, UK, between 1952 to 1971. There are 16 variants This is what I could find out about what it's made of so that Tony didn't have to answer a bazillion of my questions. I found this info in about 20 min. of online research. I can do some more digging if anybody else is interested. I can't help but to wonder just how expensive this thing must be to operate. I'm sure this expense could be cut in half if not less if a different engine & tranny were installed. Making it possibly run faster and cheaper. I know that the RR engine is for towing because this beast is so heavy. How about dropping all the excesive military gear, throwing a straight 8 or V8 in and see what happens. Mind you this is all about my application, Tony probably likes it as a military vehicle and thats it. McBrain

I spent alot more time reading up on this MiniTank to find out that the kind of people that collect these things would have serious problems with the idea's I'm entertaining. They are not the custom friendly crowd and would probably come to hunt me down driving their Fetters to my door. Plus, the thing is just too damn heavy to make it a streetable cummuter of any kind. This is just a WWII show vehicle with very limited application outside of what it is. Also, from what I gather is very time consuming to work with. Maintenance and repairs take forever for just the simplest of jobs. Takes two soldiers with expensive experience with this AFV 2 hours each, thats 4 hours total, just to replace a belt. Screw that! So much to day dreaming, this thing could turn out to be a nightmare, right fast. Not a practical toy and very expensive to up-keep. The more you enjoy it the more it will cost you, not to mention finding parts, forget about it. You'd have to find one completely mint and recently serviced just to have it sit in your garage but, for those with bountiful cash flow, it could be worth it. One big garage trophy is all it is. I still like it though. McBrain

I purchased this Ferret from VA, since 11/09/05 until now I still have not yet reveiced the vehicle The Ferret is registered as street legal in Virginia. I thought about to have it paint in black, but don't know yet. I intended to use this vehicle for shows/parades or grocery shopping. My Wector W8 is #12 of total 17 cars ever made between 1990-1992. This #12 is the only original special code Yellow color Vector/ Ostrich Hides interior. Also, is has a engine modified up a brutal 1000hp rocketship. Yet, just to keep this car in running, it cost me more than 100k for the last five years.(vectoraeromotiveclub.com)

Yeah that Ferret would make one hell of a grocery getter. Yeah, the vectors are some of the coolest cars on the planet like Randy said.To bad you ain't got your Ferret yet, good luck and post photos when you do. I do think Oil Slick Black would be a bad ass color to paint it but, thats your Ferret and not mine. McBrain
