PS bracket broke on way out to Carlisle, near Youngstown, OH, which caused the crank pully to blow...
Spent over 8 hours and $200+ to get back on the road.
Missed all day Thursday at the show...Backed into my spot at the show on Friday a.m. and was told my right rear wheel was going to fall off...
Spent all day Friday chasing down help...but didn't get the job done.
Spent most of the day Saturday thrashing on the adjustable strut rod... surprising how a new rod can be sooooo damn tight...
Got the wheel back in line by mid-afternoon Sat.
On the return trip it seems that a Jays Potato Chip stepvan blew the driveshaft as we were coming around Chicago on Toll road 80/90...
I hit it dead on and lost the oil pan...
Last words in fatal accidents for 49 of 50 states are "Oh Sh*t!" Final words in Wisconsin are "Hold my beer, I'm gonna try somethin'..."
That's what I said at 75 mph a split second after I hit the damn driveshaft...
Spent 2 days in friendly Chicago finding another oil pan and parts...
Finally got it fixed after another $500...
Back on the road again...remember the crank pulley???
Well I rigged the belts to run by bypassing the PS...
And dummy me didn't get spare belts, so I lost a belt about 50 miles west of Chicago...the bar of soap just quit working...(Thanks for the idea Bill)
Another $90 later, we headed home...
Got home Wednesday night about 1100 p.m. The car spent more time on a flatbed than any other car I have owned, but I met many unusual people, some real nice, others...well, not so nice.
It was an experience, but like Rick & Randy will tell you...it sure could have been worse...
