"looking to purchase mako"
Dec-06-06, 00:43 AM (EDT) |
I just joined the site. I'm glad to see I'm not alone in my love for the Shark. I live in N.C.. I had a 1971 Mako. I sold it in the early 90s. I've been mourning the loss ever since. If I can't find one, I guess I'll have to have one built. I'm glad I found you guys. When I had mine, I had to explain to everyone who saw it what it was, and give them a brief history of Corvette Concept Cars. Thanks for any help.

I think it is a matter of what you want. If you buy a car done, and want to change a bunch of stuff on it, then buy one and have it built your way. You are limited only by resources and time. Some of us do not have the resources to buy a completed car and must work on rusted, busted, junkers with the hope of someday, getting the car that we want. If you have to get most of your work outsourced, then it could be cost prohibitive to build your own. Pacrats car looks to be complete and ready. Tony Ta sold his yellow car and it looked good, but the new owner found many things wrong. I sold my short tail car and Rick found a bunch of rust in the windshield frame that neither one of us knew was there. Its all a game my friend, advice here is free, I dont know how correct it will be, but free nonetheless.
