It wasn't too long back when there was a "tuffed" interior shop on every corner...it's very 70's and still very cool to me, I already plan to do my seats, doors, and center trim in black diamond tuff, I will sew it up myself...the dash will be more "race/futurama" looking...digital gauges, and lights that tell things most people didn't know a car had... I have no doubt some of the "fun" comments I'll get at cruise spots/shows , and I don't care I'm making the car to please me... To me the rear lights treatment is very 70's and I really love it...I like the vertical "VETTE" script between the tail lights... Here's the test question...What are the tail lights out of? I have a set of 82 firebird tail lights and a set of 84 Fiero tail lights , not sure which I will use yet. I'm mostly guessing but that car looks like it started as a Maco then someone liked the Turbo panels, they appear to be early Ecklers, note the "FUEL" cap, is it a Mopar or Ford item?I'm spoiled if I got off 25 grand for car it must have AC, & power everything....you know if it's a stripped down car, maybe it was a factory HP car or something....hum. Oh yeah, my comment about the numbers NOT matching is a "haahaa" to the purists who want things like the same air to be in the tires the car came from the factory with... Cheers, T.

It would be sweet to have the kind of money needed to own lots of "toys" and have the place to keep them. IMHO... What something is "worth" is relative to what someone will pay for it, Customs seem to always have a huge price tag but it's the private business between seller and buyer what the car actually exchanges hands for. short of people who can afford to sit on something forever waiting for that one person who will get off what they want I believe the selling price on most customs is far less than their asking price. A Corvette dealer I know bought a fully blown Trans am show car in trailer queen condition for less that 10 grand the car was in all kinds of ads and my friend was the higest offer....of course the seller felt it was a 25 grand car. Batvette was in trailer queen condition, what's it appear to be worth???

See...it's a hard question, depends if a person "likes" the car or not. ( Sorry Pic quailty is horrible) Batvettes drive train was all new everything and a "big" small block. The bubblegum cigar goes to the vote for "Charger" tail lights seems the fuel cap is also that brand.....

LAST EDITED ON Mar-28-04 AT 07:26 AM (EDT) Im sorry but, that vette is not worth 25k You'd have to be insain to purchase it for that. I have already spotted so many flaws is the lines of this vehical but, It still remains to be nice eye candy. Carpet appears grungy around the feet placement and, DAMN! That interior has to go!I am under the same influence for the purpose of A/C. Sure a 427 is sweet but, it can get hot as hell inside, explaining the burned, scorched, grungy carpet in the floor and, firewalls. Yes, Mako mixed with Turbo, Greenwood, Can Am, Daytona or whatever the hell you wanna call the After Maket KIT, Looks great but, I am a stiff believer in keeping the Mako Looking original and, your a Big Fat Sinner if you tamper with it's basic beauty. Scolding those that believe a Mako is not good enough, that it needs heavy none original Mods for them to be satisfied. The Mako Shark II is a surperb creation and deserves sanctuary from the Car Hackers! Bill Mitchell is a GOD! Now dont get me wrong, I RANT often about heavy Mods to make my Mako exaclty what the original looks like and, that requires heavy mods but, It would still look original I am surprised that nobody has gone Manta Ray with their Maco Fab yet. I am also surprised that nobody has brought to attention that some Firebird front ends, look like a retro Mako Shark II Notice the center line, pointed nose, hood vent placements and, even the division in the location of where the grill would go. I Wonder? Cheers Car Hackers!

If you ask me, I think the guy is BSing, just to get a quick buck. I mean come on, we could make that car with a Maco kit and a CAN AM kit.I dunno, maybe I'm being to harsh? Maybe he's telling the truth, but you never know these days with people on ebay. McBrain Friendly Neighborhood Ninja
