Scott Makula's Miami Edition Camaro

My Camaro is an 83'. There is about $50,000 into the body. I designed a new body for the car, started building it, then ran out of know-how. I hooked up with John + was having him finish where I left off. He had the car for 4 1/2 years before he died. Unfortunately for me, I lost $30,000 the day he died. The car is in foam core and aluminum tape. He never finished fiberglassing the car. The car is going to be bad-ass when done, but at this point in my life, I wouldn't mind selling it. I have tons of info on the car, so if anyone is interested, please ask - . The built 305 has spun 2nd gear with 273 gears in it,so there is potential for serious power with combo upgrades. Check out the pictures + let me know what you think.... Scott

Getting Started

Here are the parts... getting started on the transformation

The Plans

In 1993, I told John what I wanted to car to look like and then he sketched up these diagrams.

John Silva's words describing this Camaro:

MIAMI-EDITION (RACING-STYLE) CAMARO "AERO" DESIGN

Another customer car sitting in the shop is a recent generation (85-92) Camaro being modified for a more futuristic "aero" style. Hood, fenders, and wheel wells are being flared and rounded. Character lines are being changed and the roof line is being visually extended to disguise the Camaro lineage. A ZR-1 rear fascia incorporates dual outlet/dual exhaust into the licence plate area and a moveable wing has been built into the diffuser in the lower rear bumper to act on undercar air flow. The extended front air dam is likewise molded to accept a hydraulically operated wing mounted low in the airstream.

This is a model which may also prove popular for either "series" builds or for individual component sales.
